Our Mission

PublicEdTech.org is a data-driven initiative focused on documenting and comparing public education technology infrastructure across California. We analyze purchasing trends, technology deployments, and security practices across County Offices of Education (COEs) to create a real-time snapshot of California’s evolving K–12 IT landscape. Our research informs decision-makers, uncovers regional disparities, and highlights opportunities for collaboration and modernization.

About Us

PublicEdTech.org is a grassroots, vendor-neutral platform created by current and former K–12 technologists who’ve seen firsthand how hard it is to make smart decisions with limited budgets, unclear guidance, and no visibility into what other schools are doing.

We’re here to change that.

We collect and share:

  • Real-world infrastructure snapshots from schools across California

  • Field-tested deployment guides and cost-effective playbooks

  • Candid stories from public school IT teams

  • Publicly accessible data on purchasing trends and equipment usage

Whether you're rolling out Wi-Fi 7, trying to secure aging networks, or just need to justify a switch replacement to leadership, this space is for you.

We’re not here to sell you gear. We’re here to give you clarity.
